My passion for sculpting with clay and an increasing awareness of the vulnerability of Australia's native animals are the inspiration for my work.
I aim to express this vulnerability, the character and essence of these gentle (and not so gentle) creatures.
For 'It's a Case of Art in the Mill' 2010, I have created realistic forms, some incorporating natural bush wood, of our 'common' species, and the critically endangered Bilby.
All sculputres are bisque fired in a gas kiln. Under glaze colours are sprayed or airbrushed onto their surface before a second firing to 1130C.
